The Roto Grip Gremlin is a medium ball in most respects, but it does have a BIG, STRONG core! The legal limit on differential is .060 and this ball checks in at .058! This tells you that it wants to flare a lot!
This ball should tend to make a strong change of direction and get forward going into the pins very quickly, and that’s exactly what it does. With the VR-1 pearl cover and Power Edge polish, this ball gets through the front of the lane fairly easily. Then, the Rondure MaxD core kicks in and this ball is pretty strong in the midlane, then changes direction quickly and reliably down the lane. I may have drilled this one a little too strong (5 1/4 x 4 1/2 x 1 1/2) as far as the last number, the pin buffer goes, as this ball already wants to get forward quickly.
This ball is a nice fit between a Rockstar, which is also on this video, and the Hustles or any of the cleaner SPI balls. I would say it’s the second or third ball out of the bag for my arsenal. It does open up a house shot!
