I loved the Code Black and the Code X!  These were two balls that I still have and use at times, having “saved” them for tournaments when I think they are in play.

Now for the Dark Code.  This ball is like the Code Black big brother.  The ReX pearl reactive (a new cover for Storm) is wrapped around the RAD4 core from the other balls in this series.

I drilled mine 5x3x 2 1/2 so that I didn’t get the ball too strong, but I could get the ball to blend out and give me a predictable reaction.  It really is an updated, stronger version of the Code Black, and I’ve had trouble NOT overusing this ball!  I love the continuation at the back of the lane from the pearl, and the way the ball reads the midlane due to the NeX part of the cover.

This ball fits once the front of the lane starts to break down, but you still have enough oil on the lane to need a stronger core/cover. When an earlier ball like an Axiom or a Proton PhysiX starts to quit it’s a good next ball!  It’s a ball you can play all angles of the lane with comfortably.

So, here’s a look at the ball in action, on the Main Street pattern:
